Connie Alford, MD majored in Microbiology and Cell
Science and minored in Chemistry at the University of Florida in
Gainesville, Florida. She received a Master’s degree in Biology, with
special concentration in Molecular Microbiology, at the University of
South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. After returning to the University of
Florida, for her MD degree, as well as her residency training in
Obstetrics and Gynecology, she completed her fellowship training at the
Combined Federal Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and
Infertility at the National Institutes of Health. During her
fellowship, she was also an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and
Gynecology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
The subject of her research thesis was the epigenetics of gametogenesis.
Dr. Alford is board certified in Obstetrics and
Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and
Gynecologists. She is an associate member of the American Society for
Reproductive Medicine, Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and
Infertility, and Society of Reproductive Surgeons. She participates as
an ad hoc reviewer for Fertility and Sterility, one of the
sentinel journals in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and
Infertility. Dr. Alford has presented at numerous national scientific
meetings, and has published in several peer-reviewed journals. Her
clinical interests are management of genetic disorders in their relation
to fertility, fertility preservation, fibroid disorders, polycystic
ovarian syndrome, and infertility.
